It all starts with a problem, that’s where design thinking comes into play. You have a problem, you think of a solution and how do get the solution? You design it, in your mind. Design Thinking in a layman’s term is finding a problem to a solution with a design. Designing solutions around existing problems or potential problems are what design thinking is all about.

The process of design thinking starts by finding the cause of the problem and designing a solution around it. However, the requirements of customers’ needs should be taken into account while designing. Design thinking mainly revolves around finding, understanding, creating a solution. Innovation is the base of design thinking.

The process design thinking in 5 steps

Design Thinking has 5 steps which are the core steps to be followed while finding a problem to solve. These steps help the designer to come up with a unique solution for any given problem.

Empathy : Empathy is the first step when it comes to design thinking, Design Thinkers should work to fully understand the experience of the user for whom the design is being created, and you should have a thorough observation.

Define : Process and synthesize the findings from your empathy. Work in order to form a user’s point of view that you will address with your design.

Ideate : Explore a wide variety of possible solutions through generating a large quantity of diverse possible solutions allowing you to step beyond the obvious and explore a range of ideas.

Prototype : Transform your Ideas into a physical form so that you can experience and interact with them and in the process learn and develop more empathy.

Test : Try out high-resolution products and use observation and feedback to refine prototypes. Learn more about the user and refine your original point of view.
