Optimizing Ancestral Ties on the Genealogy Platform

About the project

Archoral remains a cornerstone in personal and family archiving, offering users a platform to securely store and manage their family’s historical data. Its rich feature set includes family trees, data storage, and sharing functionalities, all housed within a highly secure database.

Why UI design was needed?

Crafting the UI for genealogy and archiving platform delved into the complexities of family histories and the emotional tapestry that interweaves across generations. Designing the interface for the family tree posed unique challenges. The platform’s ambition was to support extensive family databases spanning centuries, encompassing an extensive list of relation types and genders, necessitating an intuitive and understandable interface.

Tentackles approach and implementation:

We began by designing the family tree from the ground up, focusing on cards to contain vital information and various actions. Assigning distinct colors for genders based on their respective flags enhanced the visual organization of the data. Similarly, we used color-coding for different relation types, ensuring a clear and untangled display. A dynamic floating navigation feature was integrated for seamless user traversal. Profiles within the tree, packed with information, were meticulously structured for optimal organization and clarity.

How UI design revolutionized their user experience:

The UI design empowered us to create screens that appeared simple yet contained a wealth of information about each profile and generation. Users found it easier to share, collaborate, and explore their family trees. The interface not only streamlined navigation but also championed gender inclusivity, underscoring platform’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive genealogical experience.
