ELC (Educo Learning Center) offers a comprehensive online education platform that streamlines every aspect of the learning process. From easy registration and diagnostic testing to purchasing courses, managing profiles for multiple children, and handling payments, ELC aims to provide hassle-free access to top-tier education. Founded in 1985 by Dr. Man Mohan Sharma, ELC leverages the internet and personal computers to deliver accessible educational solutions.
The Challenge
During the ELC project, several challenges emerged that required careful navigation. The first hurdle was defining a clear and compelling brand identity that resonated with the target audience while differentiating from competitors. Aligning the brand’s visual elements, tone, and messaging with its core values and maintaining the consistency across all branding touch points came up as the top priority. Additionally, maintaining stakeholder alignment and managing expectations throughout the process required ongoing communication and flexibility to adapt to evolving insights and feedback.
Our Process
Our Branding process for ELC began with a thorough discovery phase, involving research to understand the target audience, competitors, and the brand’s unique value proposition. This was followed by a strategy phase where key brand elements like mission, vision, and messaging were defined. Once the strategy was solidified, the creative phase kicked off, focusing on developing visual assets such as logos, color palettes, and typography, as well as defining the brand voice and tone. After gathering feedback and refining these elements, the final step involved implementation across all platforms and touchpoints, ensuring consistency and alignment with the brand’s overall objectives.
Brand Strategy
The brand strategy for ELC centers on its mission to globally empower teachers in effectively integrating technology into classrooms and to engage students at home, focusing on developing crucial quantitative and language skills. ELC positions itself as an innovative educational platform that bridges traditional teaching methods with modern technology, providing comprehensive resources that cater to both educators and learners. Logo Design
The goal of the logo design for ELC, an educational platform catering to both kids and parents, was to create a minimalistic yet meaningful logo that reflects the brand’s dual focus. The logo needed to encapsulate the idea of a shared learning journey, bridging the educational needs of parents and children on a single digital platform.
Logo Breakdown
The logo with minimal elements justifies the brand identity of having both kids and parents on the same digital platform. The platform caters to the learning needs of parents and the child and this logo represents it in a very subtle manner.
The two figures in the logo in different sizes and colors represent the parent and the child. The silhouette with orange color depicts the child, and the blue one depicts the parent. The curve underneath the silhouettes represents an opened book. The book in the logo has been used as an intellectual object.
Since the brand is an e-learning platform and provides the services digitally, the green circle depicts that the child and parent are online when learning with Educo.
Branding Manual
We have developed a brand manual serves as a comprehensive guide to maintaining the integrity and consistency of the ELC brand. It outlines the essential elements that define the ELC identity, ensuring that every touchpoint with our audience reflects the brand’s values and mission. This manual is designed to be a reference for all stakeholders, including designers, marketers, and external partners.
Branding Collateral
As part of the comprehensive branding strategy for ELC, we developed a suite of branding collateral that visually and thematically reinforces the platform’s mission of bringing parents and children together in a shared educational journey. This collateral ensures consistent brand communication across all touchpoints, enhancing recognition and trust.
